Adding A Rotation

To add a new rotation, just enter the name you wish to use for the new rotation where it says "Add a new Rotation -->" , select the rotation you want to have used as the default for this rotation, and click the "Make This Rotation" button. That's it!

Be sure to use only letters, numbers and underscores in the rotation name.

If you are just starting to set up your system, the only selection available in the default rotation options will be "Global Default". Later when you have more rotations in the system you can change the defaults for any / all your rotations in the admin.

When you create rotations, the system creates a new directory by the name you enter, and creates a few files that it needs to keep track of banners within that rotation. If there are any problems encountered while trying to create these files and directories, the system will tell you. In most cases any problems encountered are due to files or directories having the wrong permissions. All necessary permissions for the system are listed on the installation page.

The default rotation you set when creating a new rotation is the safty net for the new rotation. (How many times can you say "rotation" in one sentence?). If a rotation is called but has no ads in it to run, or does not even exist, the default for this rotation will be used instead. If the default is also empty, or doesn't exist, then the system will fall back on the "Global Default" that you set when installing your system. You should make sure that any rotations that are being used as defaults always have at least one ad in them that is set to never expire.
